Exchange with the European Commission on public services and TiSA (Trade in Services Agreement)
On 14 May EPSU organised a delegation to meet representatives of DG Trade of the European Commission to discuss concerns regarding the inclusion of public services in the trade in services agreement (TisA), as well as in bilateral EU agreements such CETA (with Canada) and TTIP (with the United States).

EPSU/NUPGE send joint letter on CETA to EC Commissioner and EU and Canadian governments
In the joint letter (30 April) EPSU and NUPGE repeat concerns over the possible inclusion in CETA of investor-State dispute settlement (ISDS) provision and ‘negative listing’ of commitments that exacerbate liberalisation of public services.

Transatlantic call for consultation on investor privileges
ETUC Press release - 3 March 2014 - Following campaigns by trade unions and civil society organisations in Europe, the Commission agreed to hold a public consultation on investor protection instruments that enable investors to sue governments for introducing democratically agreed policies which may affect their profits.
