EPSU UK affiliates in strong call to UK Labour MEPs for fair working time

(Monday, 3 November, 2008) GMB and UNISON have called on the 19 MEPs from the UK labour party to continue to show ‘tremendous solidarity’ on the issue of working time. The letter asks that the UK members vote in favour of Alejandro Cercas’ proposal on the working time directive on 17 December 2008. The letter states: “We (UNISON and GMB) very much hope that you will be able to unite in that solidarity again on this second reading vote in support of the Cercas report, and we assure you that this would be with the full support and gratitude not only of our members, but of the British trade union movement and fellow members of the Labour Party”.
