Today, a ground-breaking study on the scope and impact of international tax avoidance has been launched by the Tax Justice Network together with Public Services International (EPSU's Global Labour Federation) and the Global Alliance for Tax Justice.

Apple allowed to have its cake and eat it: EPSU regrets Court decision to wipe high-tech giant’s fine of €14bn
On 15 July, the General Court annulled the European Commission’s biggest ever fine in a state aid case. In 2016, the Commission considered that a tax rebate (via tax rulings) granted by the Irish government to Apple was state aid, and therefore illegal.

Further seminar on recruitment and organizing during pandemic
On 18 June 20 trade union activists and officers from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Turkey took part in a webinar on organizing and recruitment. It was third online meeting prepared and run by the EPSU’s recruitment and organising team.

EPSU calls for immediate action to prevent investment challenges related to the Covid-19 pandemic
In an open letter, which has received the support of 600 organisations from more than 90 countries plus European and international organisations, EPSU calls on governments and the EU to take action to prevent the wave of ISDS cases that put at risk an effective response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

EPSU continues focus on recruitment and organizing during pandemic
At the end of May more than 60 trade union leaders, officers and activists took part in two webinars on organizing and recruitment. The two online meetings - “Building union power in a crisis” – were prepared and run by the EPSU’s recruitment and organising team.
