Hospital Sector – Social Dialogue Seminar
Working Group “New Skill Needs”

We are pleased to invite you to a technical seminar on New Skill Needs in the hospital sector on 16 September 2009. The seminar will replace the one that was originally scheduled this spring on 20 April and had to be cancelled. Interpretation will be English, French and German.
As you know, the Hospital Sector Social Dialogue Committee Plenary Meeting on 4 December 2008 decided to develop a social dialogue instrument in the area of new skill needs focusing on skills mix, leadership in hospital services and workforce planning at macro level (as identified at the last working group meeting on 27 October 2008).
The aim of the seminar is to examine these three areas and to decide on the kind of instrument that would be appropriate.
In preparation of the meeting, we would request that you provide us with practical examples in any of these areas (skills mix, leadership in hospital services and workforce planning at macro level) that you are prepared to share with participants. We would also appreciate suggestions of experts that are willing to intervene on these issues.

The seminar is organised with the support of the European Commission, which will reimburse travel and accommodation expenses up to 30 participants (15 EPSU and 15 HOSPEEM) according to their rules.
