(8 June 2022) Across Europe and beyond trade unions are drawing attention to the suppression of independent union movement in Belarus. Many leaders and activists from these independent unions have been arrested by the security forces.

Those in custody include the BKDP President, ITUC Vice-President and ILO Governing Body member Aliaksandr Yarashuk, and BKDP Vice-President Siarhei Antusevich.  At the International Labour Conference, the Committee on the Application of Standards will hear the case of Belarus.  The global labour movement is holding a demonstration of solidarity in support of arrested trade union leaders of Belarus at the Broken Chair Square in front of the UN Palace. The EPSU General Secretary joined an event organised by the Dutch trade union FNV in Amsterdam.

If you are not able to join one of those event, please sign the petition
