Plenary meeting of the Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Hospitals and Healthcare Sector on 30 November 2021

(3 December 2021)  On 30 November 2021 the plenary meeting of the Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for Hospitals and Healthcare Sector took place in the hybrid form.  Amongst other issues, the participants discussed the recent developments in the health sector in Europe including initiatives on Hazardous Medicinal Products (HMPs), the joint project on Third Party Violence and Eurofound research.

The main topics covered included the debate on updating the Framework of Action on Recruitment and Retention, extending the Sectoral Social Dialogue committee Work Programme to 2023 and approving the report from the joint project “Strengthening social dialogue in the hospital sector in the East, South and Central Europe”

It was decided to continue the debate on some of the amendments to the Framework of Action outside of the SSDC meeting, in order that a final document can be presented at the next meeting in March 2022. Participants also agreed to extend the Work Programme which, due to the pandemic, could not be fully implemented. However, a lot of work has been done and progress made on topics including the successful meeting on the Musculoskeletal disorders in February this year and the conclusion of the project on Strengthening Social Dialogue - which due to pandemic had to change its format to organizing online meetings.

The next meeting of the Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee will take place on 11 March 2022.
