(22 April 2021) We are pleased to invite you to a conference on Care Workers on the Coronavirus Frontline – translating their experiences into better care and better working conditions on Tuesday 4 May, 09.30h-13.00h CET.
During the event, we will launch a recent report by FES, Arena Idé and Kommunal on the experience of workers in long-term care during COVID-19.  The report highlights the heroic efforts of care workers as well as the important role played by trade unions during the pandemic. It underscores existing deficiencies in long-term care and outlines the need to remodel care provision towards well-funded public care services with good working conditions and sufficient levels staffing.

The conference will be held shortly before the Social Summit in Porto on May 7th, to underline that the problems of care workers are similarly felt across Europe. The event will be an opportunity to hear from and discuss with care workers, trade unionists and representatives of European / international institutions.

Interpretation will be available from and to English, German, Swedish and Portuguese.

An agenda will be circulated, and uploaded to our EPSU website event page HERE,  in the coming days.
