NTL Norway: State sector employees make a major breakthrough in achieving equal pay

(9 July 2010, Brussels) Norwegian state sector employees have achieved a collective bargaining agreement that will address income disparities between women and men. The new agreement brings a 3.3% wage increase overall, of which women workers will receive a 63 percent share.

At a 28 May executive meeting of the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU), Turid Lilleheie, president of the Norwegian civil service union NTL expressed her great satisfaction with the fact that this agreement represents a major step in closing the pay gap between women and men union members.
