Negotiations took off on EWC agreement in ENEL

(6 February 2008) The second special negotiating body of ENEL saw an exchange of views between management and the representatives. A wide range of issues was discussed such as the role of the EWC in negotiating agreements, the geographic scope of the agreement (covering Europe or only the EU), issues for information and consultation, what to do in case of conflict and differences of interpretation with the agreement, relationship between the EWC and national level representation... The trade union side stressed the importance of a high quality agreement reflecting ENEL's position in the energy industry. And while negotiations have now started in earnest there is still a way to go before a high quality agreement is reached. The meeting took place 4-5 February 2008 in Roma. The Deputy General Secretary participated for EPSU.
