Main Spanish public sector trade unions call for Day of action

(13 June 2012) FSP-UGT and FSC-CCOO have called for a Day of action in the regional administration on June 14. This call follows the months of mobilisations against the privatisation of health and education in several autonomous communities (Madrid, Catalonia, Murcia...) and the continuous attacks against public sector by most of the regional governments throughout Spain.

The call of order of the day of action is to the defend the welfare state. The trade unions want to stop the destruction of public sector jobs, the loss of rights within the sector, stop the imposed cuts and stop the reform of the labour code.

This will be the first mobilisation after the Spanish Government had to demand a bail-out for its banks.

The Health and Social services will have their mobilisation on June 26th and the National administration on June 28.

The European Federation of Public Sector Union wish to their affiliates a successful mobilisation and hopes that the unjust antisocial cuts will be defeated.
