(4 July 2023) On 29 June 2023, the special negotiating body led by EPSU met for a first kick-off meeting in the Veolia campus outside Paris to launch the discussions on a transnational agreement on diversity and inclusion. The negotiations will start in September 2023.
The preliminary meeting - first among unions, followed by a session with management - served as a base to discuss initial questions such as the organisation of the negotiation. It also set the level of ambition which unions want from the agreement: a broad and meaningful agreement with a clear non-regression clause and with strong implementation and monitoring processes, ensuring it brings positive changes on the ground.
Among the areas that will be negotiated are gender equality and LGBTQ+ rights, disability, minorities, ageing and care and other discrimination grounds. The first negotiation meeting will be in September and will focus on the scope and purpose of the agreement.
