Fresenius SE EWC meets

(28 March 2008) The EWC of this European Company (SE) considered the corporate strategy, financial results of the company and its work programme. Members provided reports on the national situations. This was the first regular meeting of the SE EWC. The EPSU Deputy General Secretary participated and made a presentation regarding the experience of other companies stressing the importance of a work programme and communication. The revision of the EWC Directive was also addressed and the importance to define information and consultation rights in a similar way as in the SE regulation. Fresenius promotes itself as a health service company employing over 100,000 employees worldwide in hospitals and clinics, renal care and diagnostic centres, medical facillity management, nutritional activities as well as the production of medical appliances and chemical substances and medicines. Fresenius is active in 23 European countries. The EWC of Fresenius SE met 26-28 March in Bad Homburg, Germany.
