European Works Council GdF Suez gives negative opinion on the merger of Energy Services

(Brussels, 12 December 2008) The European Works Council of Gdf Suez has issued its common position on the proposed merger of the activities of Cofathec and Elyo. It has advised negatively as detailed insight regarding the employment consequences is not provided by management and a number of concrete engagements have not been entered into. The EWC insists on employment protection for three years and on full participation of the trade union representatives in the process of the merger. For the opinion FR open document below.
