(18 December 2013) The European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC) is calling for a European demonstration
to underline the demands of workers and people for a Social Europe. We need a change of direction, away from austerity and for investment to create sustainable growth and jobs. With the demo the ETUC wants to send a powerful message that we also need a change of direction. And that implies a need to change the European Commission and those Commissioners that have been the advocates of austerity policy, free markets and free trade and which have not defended workers' rights.

EPSU will consider the support for the ETUC demo at its Executive Committee 11-12 February 2014.
