(17 May 2018) As many Palestinians protest the move of the US government to locate their embassy to Jerusalem and remember that 70 years ago 700.000 Palestinians fled to find refuge in neighbouring countries, violence has erupted in Gaza and the West Bank. More than 60 people have been killed and nearly 3000 have been injured. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein has called for the killings to stop. EPSU supports this. Many unions, confederations, governments and the EU have expressed their indignation at the killings. Only through peaceful dialogue recognizing the interests of all concerned can the conflict be solved based on the UN resolutions.
