This joint ETUI-EPSU Training Seminar on Social Services has two aims:

• To exchange on the relevance and impact of key trends in the field of (personal) social services across the EU/Europe on pay and working conditions, occupational safety and health (OSH), training, recruitment & retention, cross-border mobility/migration

• To analyse the role of social dialogue in the field of social services and key challenges in view of employment relations, effective collective bargaining and collective agreements

We will take at look at key trends in the field of personal social services and how trade union manage to cope with them through organising and social dialogue.

The training seminar targets colleagues working with EPSU affiliates and there being in charge of policy work and/or of organising and recruiting members and/or of social dialogue/collective bargaining.

Personal social services cover a lot of different services. We suggest focusing on elderly care and child care, but if you are organising workers employed in other sub-sectors of social services (e.g. services for persons with disability, for homeless persons or for drug addicts) and social work (e.g. youth welfare or debt counselling) those sub-sectors can and should also be covered.

The joint ETUI-EPSU Training Seminar on Social Services is open to EPSU collegues working in the sectors "health and social services (HSS) and "local and regional government" (LRG).

We plan to provide active interpretation into and from the following languages: English, French, German, Bulgarian and Czech.
