ETUC rejects the economic policy proposals of Barosso, Van Rompuy and Merkozy

(14 March 2011) The Executive Committee of the ETUC adopted a policy rejecting the proposals of Commission President Barosso, Council President Van Rompuy and the leaders of Germany and France, 8 March 2011. ETUC argues we need policies to achieve a more equal and fair Europe. The ETUC position details a long range of proposals that can make the difference, stimulate economic growth and create jobs. ETUC underlines that the proposals of the EU leaders for more austerity and wage cuts will not bring Europe out of the crisis and will not help countries lagging behind to catch up.
