(5 May 2022) Last week, the EPSU Youth Network steering group had a preparatory meeting in Brussels for a project on Digitalisation and Collective Bargaining for the Future Leaders of Europe's Public Service Workers.
The project, supported by the Friederich Ebert Stiftung aims to strengthen the EPSU Youth Network, encourage the involvement if young members in the overall work of EPSU, and equip them with the skills and knowledge to take a more active role - starting with digitalisation and collective bargaining.
During this meeting, the steering group discussed the priority areas for the youth network in the changing labour market, specifically climate change and demographic change. They also discussed strategies for active involvement, such as better representation in the in the standing committees, mainstreaming the youth perspective throughout EPSUs policy work, monitoring youth participation and trainings to make available for youth members. Based on the discussions, we will draft a youth action plan on active involvement.
This meeting will be followed by a small workshop for the steering group on digitalisation and collective bargaining, after which we will produce a tool kit. Both the youth action plan on active involvement and the tool kit on digitalisation and collective bargaining will be presented at the annual youth network meeting in Tirana - the European Youth Capital of 2022.
