(18 May 2022) On May 13 the European Federation of Public Services Unions wrote to Commissioners Kyriakides, Schmit and Šefčovič regarding the final report of the Conference for the future of Europe (CoFoE).
The recommendations in the final report reinforce many of the demands that EPSU has made over the years regarding improving the access of everyone to high quality health and social care. They reflect an expectation that Europe can - and must - deliver on equal and universal access to affordable, preventive, curative and quality healthcare. The input of citizens has made very much clear that Europe’s citizens want a public health system that is very much in line with the demands of public service unions.
We hope that the European Commission will follow the line of citizens.
