(21 February 2020) Strong and cooperative relations with the trade unions is important to the European S&D group as we seek to implement the European Pillar of Social Rights, stressed Heléne Fritzon, vice-chair of the S&D group. We discussed with her the importance of the perspective of workers and public services in a series of current topics and forthcoming policies like the Green Deal, Industrial Policy and Digital Agenda. Strengthening collective bargaining and ensuring all European workers have decent wages are common concerns. Mainstreaming gender equality in all these policies and ensuring a strong European Gender Equality Strategy and Gender Pay Transparency Directive are joint demands.
Heléne Fritzon is Swedish MEP for the Swedish Labour Party, former local councilor and former Minister. We met 19 February in the European Parliament.
