"Formalising the European Sectoral Social Dialogue in the Hospital Sector"
16 - 17 March 2006, ITUH, Room AUD, Brussels
It is our pleasure to invite you as a sponsored participant (subject to decision by respective national social partners - see page 3-4) to the European Conference on the formalisation of the social dialogue within the Hospital Sector. The Conference is organised by the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) and the European Hospital Employers' Association (HOSPEEM).
The influence of EU policies on the hospital sector continues to grow. New challenges need to be met with new initiatives. It is for this reason that the HOSPEEM and EPSU are committed to establishing a ‘voice' for the European social partners in the hospital sector, at this level.
The previous European Conference concerning the Social Dialogue within the Euro-pean Hospital Sector was held in February 2004 in Brussels. The overall objective of this coming conference is to build on the progress made in the last 18 months and par-ticularly to formalise the social dialogue in the hospital sector in the EU. The confer-ence will also examine points of common interest for the social partners under the fol-lowing three headings;
- Recruitment and retention;
- The ageing workforce in the hospital sector in Europe;
- Assessing new skill needs in the sector.
The discussion, which will take place under these three themes, will provide direction for the future work of the social partners.
The European Commission has kindly provided funding for this conference.
A general description of the conference activities and the issues discussed is available on the dedicated website www.eurocarenet.org
