(15 December 2020) The European Commission published its Pharmaceutical Strategy for Europe 25th of November 2020. It is part of the proposals for the Commission’s European Health Union. Another part will be the Beat Cancer at Work plan expected in early 2021. The analysis of EPSU sees several worthwhile elements in the strategy but there are parts to be strengthened like the role of the social partners, the use of social dialogue and the importance of collective bargaining to improve working conditions. The Commission should strengthen the role of public research and companies in the sector to deliver quality, affordable and accessible medicines available for all.
