(31 January 2017) The European Commission provided employer and trade union representatives with its latest views on the economic outlook and also discussed its Communication on a positive fiscal stance for the Euro Zone. This meeting of the Macroeconomic Dialogue at a technical level takes place twice a year and is an opportunity for the social partners to discuss economic developments with Commisson officials and prepare for the meeting political level of the Macroeconomic Dialogue which nexts takes place on 21 February. EPSU was part of the ETUC delegation led by the new Deputy General Secretary Katja Lehto-Komulainen.

(April 2016) The European and International trade union confederations (ETUC and ITUC) have criticised the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for calling for further changes to Greek laws on strikes, collective bargaining and employment protection. The IMF demands have not been taken up by the European Commission and are not even supported by the Greek employers.
