Dear Colleagues,

This is to invite you to the final conference of the War on Want / PCS / ST / EPSU project: Building awareness of tax justice in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.

The networking event will take place in Brussels at the International Trade Union House, boulevard du Roi Albert II, 5 – 1210 Brussels on Friday 9 October 2015 (location map attached).

The meeting will start at 09h30 and end at 16h30 at the latest.

To note, it will be preceded on 8 October by the meeting of the Standing Committee on National and European Administration, for which a separate invitation has been sent to members.

The event will close a three-year EC-funded training project aiming at building awareness on tax justice in Europe and sub-Saharan Africa amongst public service trade unions.

It will bring together at least 30 of the delegates who have been trained throughout 2013-2015 in the partner countries namely Austria, Ireland, Spain, Sweden and the UK.

The aim is to ensure that the delegates are able to act as trainers for tax justice actions in the future.

It will enable the sharing of learning and feedback on best practice with a view to strengthen a network of public service trade unionists on tax justice across Europe.

It will also be an opportunity to exchange on recent initiatives at EU and International levels and discuss next steps for advancing a progressive tax justice agenda.

A draft agenda is attached, please let us know whether you would be interested to present a success story of how your union contributed to tax justice in your country.

It is aimed in priority to the delegates from the project partner countries i.e. Spain, Austria, Sweden, the UK and Ireland who took part in national and regional meetings in the course of 2013-2015.

For those delegates, funding of up to €232 per person will be available (up to a maximum of 6 delegates per country).

NEA members from countries other than those listed above who are active in tax justice matters and/or organising tax administrations are welcome to attend within the limits of the venue capacity.
