(16 November 2022) EPSU stands in solidarity with social service workers in Brussels on strike today.
The workers are denouncing an overload of work and a lack of staff and are warning of the need for structural, anticipatory and permanent refinancing of social services.
We strongly support the demands for the revaluation of salaries and work in the social service sector, a significant investment in the prevention of psychosocial risks and a collective reduction of working hours with salary maintenance and compensatory hiring.
The strike comes after a string of similar strikes in the health and social services sector in recent months, including in France, Italy and Finland.
