Over 100 election candidates already signed up to ‘public service pledge

(22 March 2009, Brussels) This week saw the European Election campaign to get candidates to sign a ‘public service pledge’ pass the 100 mark. (3 March 2009, Brussels) the Green/ European Free Alliance Group in the European Parliament gave a ringing endorsement to the EPSU public service pledge. Euro Elections Public Service Pledge leaflet launched in 23 Languages

(2 March 2009, Brussels) EPSU have launched the public service pledge leaflet in all 23 EU languages (see bottom of page for your country language!). All 200+ public service trade unions affiliated to EPSU will be encouraged to use the pledge in their campaigns for the European elections (set for June 2009).
EPSU President Anne-Marie Perret stated that; "this leaflet will allow us to check whether European Parliament election candidates mean what they say when it comes to public services". (...)

Public Service Pledge gets major boost from Socialist MEPs

EPSU launches public service pledge for European Parliament elections 2009

(25 November Brussels) The European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) has launched the ‘Public Service Pledge’ for the European Elections 2009 (www.epsu.org/publicservicepledge). National public service unions throughout the European Union will ask candidates for the European Elections, scheduled for June 2009, to sign up to the EPSU demands.
The pledge asks for candidates to support a set of framework laws which recognize the special role of essential services in the European Union, (...)
