Launch of European Network "Social Services Europe"

PSI Film "Sharp Sense - Promoting the safety of health care workers"

In 2011 PSI produced the film "Sharp Sense - Promoting the Safety of Health Care Workers" designed to lower the risk of exposure for health care workers and the risk of consequences of exposure to pathogens in blood and other body fluids of patients caused by needlestick/sharps injuries.
The film has been made available in English, French and Portuguese.

EC film on the making of directive 2010/32/EU on the prevention of sharps injuries

During summer 2011 DG EMPL produced a video on the elaboration of the Framework Agreement on prevention from sharp injuries in the hospital and healthcare sector concluded by HOSPEEM and EPSU on 17 July 2009.
Based on the procedures stipulated in Art. 154 and 155 2 of the TFEU this autonomous agreement of the European sectoral social partners in the hospital sector on 10 May 2010 became Directive 2010/32/EU.

EP report on the future of SSGI voted in 5 July plenary session

CGIL proposals for reform of health care professions in Italy ... and related EU-level processes

Improving health services in Gabrovo

In 2000 the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank insisted on changes to the Bulgarian healthcare system, without any real public debate. Polyclinics were replaced with a GP (general practitioner) service and finance was changed from general taxation to a 6% insurance contribution.

Campaign defends publicly financed healthcare

In 2006 the Hungarian government proposed health service reforms which included hospital closures, the introduction of fees, and the privatisation of health finance by the creation of regional, part private, insurance funds.
