The EPSU Executive Committee, meeting on 14 June 2004, took note of the White Paper of the European Commission on Services of General Interest. EPSU acknowledges a number of positive elements contained in the White Paper. Electricity social dialogue agrees statement on skill needs, 22 June 2004
The employers (Eurelectric) and the trade unions agreed a joint statement on skill needs in the European electricity sector at the plenary meeting. Both sides draw attention to the emerging skill gaps, and the need for the social partners and other authorities to address this. An important way to do so is through increasing the number of younger workers in the industry (apprenticeships and other training possibilities). Basis
The Gender Equality Action Plan is based on the EPSU Policy Statement on Gender Equality (2000) which includes main issues from the Budapest Conclusions (1999), the EPSU Constitution and the AIMS of the EPSU Gender Equality Committee (GEC). The Action Plan is designed to implement and develop EPSU’s gender equality policies, and set realistic goals on the achievement of these up to the EPSU Congress in the spring of 2004.
