Request for action: EU-Canada trade negotiations (CETA)

(Brussels, 27 February 2014) At the last EPSU Executive Committee we raised a number of concerns regarding current trade negotiations, including the EU-US (TTIP) and EU-Canada (CETA) negotiations – see also the note for the Executive Committee below (EN/FR/DE/ES/SV) and the report of the EPSU meeting on trade held last November (available in all EPSU languages) for background information.

Also below the letter from the ETUC ' EU/Canada CETA; EU/US TTIP'.

As we mentioned, the CETA negotiations are not yet closed and further lobbying efforts are needed. Please intervene with your government (and local and regional authorities) this week or next to raise these issues. You might also use this opportunity to seek publicity for the demands of EPSU/ETUC and help raise the pressure.

Please inform Penny Clarke of any feedback you receive ([email protected]).

Thanking you in advance for your interventions,

Best regards,

Carola Fischbach-Pyttel
EPSU General Secretary
