European Water movements takes stock of successful ECI and plans ahead

(11 October 2013) On Saturday 5 and 6 October, a coordinating meeting of the active members of the European water movement  took place in Brussels with representatives from different civil society organisations from Spain, France, Greece, Germany and Italy as well as representatives from European and Global level. The meeting was used, amongst other things, to discuss the further steps for civil society organisations that have been supporting the European Citizens Initiative www.right2water.eu

Other issues discussed were the future of the European Water movement and issues such as Trade agreements. Expansion of the network to new countries such as Croatia, Austria, Slovakia and Slovenia was discussed. EPSU will continue to work with citizens and civil society organisations to ensure that the Human Right to water is defended in Europe and beyond. EPSU has been an active member of this network since its inception.
