On September 19 a delegation of Turkish trade unionists members of the Public sector confederation (KESK) visited Brussels to explain the current onslaught against trade union rights and trade unionists in Turkey. The delegation was composed by KESK General Secretary: İsmail Hakkı TOMBUL, TÜM BEL-SEN President: Vicdan BAYKARA, Eğitim Sen (teachers federation of KESK) Financial Secretary: Abdullah KARAHAN, BES General Secretary: Serdal SAVAŞÇI, General Education and the Press Secretary: Zülfikar KARTAL AKÇAY and DISK Deputy General Secretary: Yücel TOP. Representatives from ITUC, ETUC, EPSU and ETUCE were present.
The European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) has committed to send a delegation to Ankara to be present at the hearing of the female members of KEKS in front of the judge on October 4 as well as mobilization solidarity and support across Europe.
