“The European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU) stands in solidarity with the Greek trade union movement”, says Carola Fischbach-Pyttel, General Secretary of EPSU, on the eve of another 48h General Strike coming Friday and Saturday.
This strike is to demonstrate opposition against the proposal to reduce the minimum wage to 520€ and to abolish collective agreements. “This is punishing those workers who have problems to survive. It is aggravating the social crisis and amounts to a form of social warfare from the top” she adds. The “catastroika” (the International Monetary Fund, European Central Bank and the European Union) also demands a reform of the pension system. Only when these conditions are fulfilled will Greece receive the 130 billion euros it needs to keep paying the interest of the debt to private banks.
EPSU calls on its European affiliates to send messages of solidarity to our Greeks colleagues in this moment of need. EPSU welcomes the protest organized outside the Greek embassy tomorrow initiated by Belgian trade unions at 5pm in Brussels.

Η EPSU απαιτεί μια άλλη λύση για τον ελληνικό λαό
αντί της λιτότητας που επιδεινώνει την κρίση
"Η Ευρωπαϊκή Ομοσπονδία Συνδικάτων των Δημοσίων Υπαλλήλων (EPSU) εκφράζει την αλληλεγγύη της προς το ελληνικό συνδικαλιστικό κίνημα", δηλώνει η Carola Fischbach-Pyttel, Γενική Γραμματέας της EPSU, την παραμονή της 48ωρης γενικής απεργίας στην Ελλάδα αύριο Παρασκευή και μεθαύριο Σάββατο.
Η απεργία καλείται για να δηλώσει την αντίθεση των εργαζομένων προς τις προτάσεις για μείωση του κατώτατου μισθού στα 520 ευρώ και κατάργηση των συλλογικών συμβάσεων. Αυτό απλά τιμωρεί τους εργαζόμενους που αντιμετωπίζουν πρόβλημα επιβίωσης. Επιδεινώνει την κοινωνική κρίση και ισοδυναμεί με μια μορφή κοινωνικού πολέμου από τα πάνω.
Η "καταστρόικα" (Διεθνές Νομισματικό Ταμείο, Ευρωπαϊκή Κεντρική Τράπεζα και Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση) ζητά ακόμα την αναδιάρθρωση του συνταξιοδοτικού συστήματος. Μόνο αν ικανοποιηθούν αυτές οι συνθήκες, θα λάβει η Ελλάδα τα 130 δις ευρώ που χρειάζεται για να συνεχίσει να πληρώνει τους τόκους του χρέους της προς τις ιδιωτικές τράπεζες.
Αυτή την κρίσιμη στιγμή, η EPSU καλεί όλα τα ευρωπαϊκά συνδικάτα να στείλουν μηνύματα αλληλεγγύης στους Έλληνες συναδέλφους μας.
H EPSU καλωσορίζει τη διαμαρτυρία που οργανώνεται από βέλγικα συνδικάτα αύριο 10 Φλεβάρη στις 5 το απόγευμα μπροστά στην Ελληνική Πρεσβεία στις Βρυξέλλες.

La FSESP exige une autre solution que l’austérité et encore plus de crise, pour le peuple grec
(9 février 2012) « La Fédération Syndicale Européenne des Services Publics se montre solidaire du mouvement syndical grec » déclare Carola Fischbach-Pyttel, Secrétaire Générale de la FSESP, à la veille d’une grève générale de 48h, ces vendredi et samedi.
La grève a pour but d’exprimer l’opposition à la proposition de réduire le salaire minimum à 520€ et d’abolir les conventions collectives. « C’est punir les travailleurs qui ont déjà du mal à survivre. Cela aggravera la crise sociale et revient à une sorte de guerre de tranchées des puissants contre l’Etat providence» poursuit-elle. La « catastroïka » (Le Fonds Monétaire International, la Banque Centrale Européenne et l’Union Européenne) demande également une réforme du système des retraites. C’est seulement quand la Grèce aura rempli ces conditions, qu’elle pourra recevoir les 130 milliards d’euros dont elle a besoin pour continuer à rembourser les intérêts de sa dette aux banques privées.
La FSESP en appelle à ses affiliés européens pour envoyer des messages de soutien à nos collègues grecs en cette période difficile. La FSESP encourage la manifestation organisée devant l’ambassade grecque, demain à 17h et ce, à l’initiative des organisations syndicales belges.
