The aim of the Conference is to exchange EPSU’s affiliates experiences with PPPs to date and to address a number of questions, such as whether PPPs can contribute to quality public services, why and on what criteria are they preferred to public sector investment, and how democratic control and transparency is assured. A background paper will present an overview of PPP developments and will also include a number of case studies of PPPs reflecting a range of national trade union experiences. On the second day the Conference will examine EU developments taking place which impact on PPPs and on the quality of public services.
