Public services union UNISON has reacted angrily to the health minister’s support for regional pay in the National Health Service (NHS). The union argues that this would be divisive, create a bureaucratic nightmare and undermine the national "Agenda for Change" pay and conditions agreement that was negotiated in 2005, addressing issues of equality and the inconsistencies arising often from local pay elements.
