URGENT ACTION - Service Directive - Hearing in the European Parliament
A public hearing of the European Parliament (EP) committee on the internal market and consumer protection took place on 11 November 2004, at which a debate on the draft Directive was held. Over 700 European organisation representatives participated illustrating the extremely high level of interest, and controversy, regarding this directive.
For EPSU, the encouraging element was the overwhelming number of interventions which were critical of the services directive. The summary of the hearing is available at the following link:
