We are pleased to invite you to the next working group meeting of the Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for the Hospital Sector on Wednesday 26 October 2011 from 09h30 – 16h00 in Brussels (venue to be confirmed).

The EPSU-HOSPEEM Steering Committee (on behalf of EPSU made up of the Presidency of the EPSU Standing Committee “Health and Social Services”) will meet with colleagues of HOSPEEM at 9h30. All other EPSU affiliates will meet at 10h15 for our separate Trade Unions’ group meeting, before going to the plenary session as of 11h15. The agenda has been organised in a manner to deal with the main issues and to take all relevant decisions basically by 14h30 to allow those representatives of HOSPEEM and EPSU affiliates to take an afternoon flight to Warsaw for the final conference on 27 October 2011of the project promoting the implementation of the Multisectoral Guidelines on Third Party Violence of 10 July 2010 (see http://www.epsu.org/a/6782).

On page http://www.epsu.org/a/7576 you’ll find a number of enclosures for the next working group meeting on 26 October 2011 • The draft agenda coordinated by HOSPEEM (responsible for this meeting) and EPSU. • We have also uploaded the draft minutes on main points and decisions taken for the third working group meeting of the Sectoral Social Dialogue Committee for the Hospital Sector of 16 September 2011, prepared by EPSU. • Background info on the work done up to now by EPSU and HOSPEEM on the topic Ageing Workforce • A letter to DG EMPL asking for financial support for further work on this topic • Until mid October we will upload there the revised outline for the HOSPEEM-EPSU Working Group on the Ageing Workforce in the Health Sector, currently prepared by HOSPEEM. • We will also put a draft questionnaire/template with the list of issues to be reported back to EPSU and HOSPEEM Secretariats on the implementation of the EPSU-HOSPEEM Code of Conduct on Ethical Cross-border Recruitment and Retention, in the meantime available in 12 languages, http://www.epsu.org/a/3715 (see Draft Minutes, 3., p. 3)

If you are interested in participating in the EPSU-HOSPEEM drafting group for to elaborate guidelines, oversee the collection of good practice models, etc. (see Draft Minutes, 1. “Next steps”, p. 2) on the ageing workforce, please send your expression of interest to Mathias Maucher (mmaucher epsu.org), ideally by 14 October 2011. Should our request to receive financial support by the European Commission for a drafting group and a technical seminar being accepted, EPSU and HOSPEEM will be able to nominate 4 to 5 representatives for the drafting group that should start work as of November 2011 (and then for a period of maximum 9 months)

The Commission will reimburse travel and subsistence expenses to representatives from EU countries in accordance with their financial rules.

You will receive more information about the venue, interpretation facilities and other practical details as soon as we have received the official invitation from the European Commission. Interpretation has been requested to and from English, French, German and Swedish. We have also requested the possibility to speak Spanish.
