Waste workers threatened strike action over outsourcing
The SIPTU members at South Dublin County Council have voted for strike action in protest at the council’s unilateral decision to privatize the waste collection service. The unions says that it has been working with management over improvements to the service and the council’s decision is in conflict with the national Croke Park agreement and earlier national agreements that give priority to using in-house labour.
