Romanian unions make human chain – fight austerity package – a photo impression

(16 June 2010) Over 20.000 workers and pensioners gathered for a human chain around the Romanian Parliament, 15 June.

They protested the austerity package of the government that will lead to cuts of 25% in public service wages and 15% in pensions. The government survived a vote of no-confidence and the cuts will be effective 1 July 2010.
