Euro Parliament Green /EFA Group come out in force for strong public services
(3 March 2009, Brussels) the Green/ European Free Alliance Group in the European Parliament gave a ringing endorsement to the EPSU public service pledge. The leader of the group, Monica Frassoni MEP (pictured) stated that the pledge was an excellent initiative. The invitation to address the group had come from UK Green Jean Lambert MEP. EPSU is working in close coordination with the Green group on issues such as the cross border healthcare proposal from the European Commission. Ms. Lambert along with her Danish colleague Margret Auken MEP (Denmark) and Claude Turmes MEP (Luxembourg) have been working hard to ensure that that healthcare in Europe remains a public service, accessible to all and based on solidarity funding.
