Collective Bargaining Working Group
Follow-up to the EPSU Social Dialogue and Collective Bargaining Conference: Co-ordinating and strengthening the social dialogue and collective bargaining in the public services
9.30-16.30, 17 March 2009
International Trade Union House (ITUH) – Room Auditorium
5 Boulevard du Roi Albert II, 1210 Brussels
This working group is a follow-up meeting to EPSU’s 2008 Social Dialogue and Collective Bargaining Conference and will provide an opportunity for around 20-25 participants to review the conference. The aim will be to look at the various parts of the conference to see how effective they were and what further action might be required on some of the specific issues – such as equal pay, the European Court of Justice cases and the various subjects tackled by the workshops. The working group will also review the regional meetings that took place in London, Berlin and Verona last year and so it would be useful if those attending the working group had participated in a regional meeting and the December conference.
The working group meeting will include a briefing on the 2009 project submitted to European Commission for funding (deadline for submissions 2 March 2009). There will be round-up of progress on a number of collective bargaining policies that have been discussed at recent conference and a discussion about improving co-ordination. Also relevant to this is how we continue to improve the exchange of information on collective bargaining and we will look at regular information and progress with databases.
The meeting has been organised with financial assistance from the European Commission which means that we are able to provide help with some travel and accommodation costs.
