Turkish energy unions fight privatisation of energy companies
(Brussels, 27 August 2008) The Turkish energy trade unions, engineers and other professional organisations and a consumer organisation have established a Platform against the privatisation of the Turkish energy sector. A series of government are attempting to privatise but this has met with fierce resistance. Some municipal privatisations take place such as of Izgas in Kocaeli region. The group defends the public service, consumers and workers.
