Tuesday, 3rd June 2008
9h30 - 16h30
Committee of the Regions
Room JDE 51
101, rue Belliard, 1040 Brussels
We would like to invite you to the CEMR / EPSU Conference on 3rd June 2008 where we will present and discuss the outcome our joint project on changes in the organisation of local public services and the role social dialogue, which we are carrying out with the support of the European Commission.
Please find attached a first draft programme. This will be finalised in the near future, taking into account the outcome of the research on the examined case studies (see attached project description).
At the Conference we aim not only to present the project’s results but also to share experience with representatives from local and regional governments and administrations and to reflect on the key challenges regional and local government in Europe are facing in changing the organisation of services.
The Commission’s grant allows for the reimbursement of travel and accommodation expenses of up to 80 participants, from both CEMR and EPSU members (i.e., 40 participants each) from EU and candidate countries (Turkey and Croatia).
We will cover one hotel night with a maximum of 140 Euros and will also contribute to the travel for the participants with a maximum of 500 Euros. CEMR has made pre-bookings in some Brussels hotels (please check further details on this in the attached ‘list of hotels’). Interpretation will be provided to and from at least English, French, German, Italian, Swedish (other languages to be confirmed).
Please return the attached registration form by 6 May 2008 to the CEMR Secretariat.
We look forward to welcoming you on 3rd June and having an interesting exchange of experience and views.
