It is our pleasure to invite you to the European Conference “Strengthening the Social Dia-logue in the Hospital Sector”. The Conference is the final event of a Social Dialogue-project managed by the European Hospital and Healthcare Employers Association (HOSPEEM) in cooperation with the European Federation of Public Service Unions (EPSU). The project is supported by UNISON and NHS-Employers from the UK and the VKA Vere-inigung der Kommunalen Arbeitgeberverbände from Germany.
This project which started in the winter of 2006 is the first major initiative of the European Social Dialogue Committee for the hospital sector after its launch on 20 September 2006. The objective of this project is to encourage and strengthen the development of national, local and European social dialogue in the hospital sector. To reach this objective, the pro-ject partners have commissioned a research and developed pilot activities in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The results of these research and pilot activities will be presented to you in the conference in Prague. A programme for the meeting will be made available shortly.
The conference aims to bring together social partner representatives from all over the EU in order to discuss how European, national and local social dialogue in the hospital sector could best benefit from the available opportunities for social partners in Europe and how they could reach tangible and positive results by cooperation, exchange and interaction. Experiences from the project research and pilot activities will be used to develop recom-mendations and suggestions for action.
