Norwegian Unions announce Parliament demo on Prison Overcrowding
(21 February, 2008, Oslo) The Norwegian affiliates of EPSU have today unveiled their plans for European Prison Action Day. Activists from the Norwegian affiliates of EPSU will demonstrate outside their national Parliament. The event will take place between 12h00-14h00 on 28 February. This is designed to be synchronized with the action taking place in Brussels. There will be approximately 100 members of Norwegian Prison Unions present. They will be supported by representatives form other trade unions form the public service sector. Members of the Norwegian Parliament’s committee of justice, governmental representatives, and the leader of The Norwegian Correctional Services are invited to come to the event to receive the demands of the union.
