No to prison overcrowding - campaign up and running with Spanish Demo
(Madrid, January 2008) EPSU Spanish Affiliate CC.OO has started the momentum towards the European action day against prison overcrowding set for 28 February 2008.
The Spanish trade union have mobilised members to protest about the health and safety conditions for prison staff. They have also called for proper professional recognition for prison staff. For a detailed outline of the CC.OO position please WATCH this VIDEO
CC.OO has promised to continue building pressure on the issue of prison overcrowding up to 28 February. A further demonstration is set for 19 February, and a national press conference will take place on the eve of the Euro Action Day. CC.OO will send a delegation of 36 prison staff for the Eurodemo in Brussels.
