To kick off the 2009 EPSU Congress preparations, we are pleased to organise a workshop on 29 January 2008 to exchange ideas regarding developments affecting public services and future EPSU policy.

Our aim is that the results of the workshop feed into the first meeting of the Congress Resolution Committee planned for 12 March 2008, especially as regards the drafting of the public services resolution.

We would like to invite two participants per constituency to take part in the workshop, encouraging those colleagues to participate that have been involved in our quality public service campaign events. We also invite the Chairs of the EPSU Standing Committees and Gender Equality Committee.

Interpretation has been requested to and from English and French, and you will be able to speak but not listen to Italian, Spanish and German.

A participation form is also attached which we ask you to return as soon as possible.

A detailed agenda for the meeting and background document will go out after the holidays.

In the meantime we draw your attention to the update on public services issues discussed at the last Executive Committee meeting (see www.epsu.org/a/3275)

We expect all participating unions to cover all travel and subsistence costs of their representatives, except those eligible for Financial Assistance (see attached rules). Should you require accommodation, a list of hotels in Brussels offering preferential tariffs to the EPSU/ETUC is attached.
