(30 October 2007) The European Commission launched a new Call for Proposals for the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) earlier this month. The LLP is an ambitious framework programme, bringing together most of the EU’s support mechanisms for education and training, including the Leonardo da Vinci and Grundtvig Programmes (dealing respectively with vocational education and training and with adult education). The LLP recognises the important role that trade unions have to play, particularly in relation to vocational education and training, and offers support for a wide range of new activities and experiences.
