Over 7,000 signatures for the initiative www.petitionpublicservice.eu. in Bulgaria

(16 April, Sofia) Bulgarian affiliates of EPSU, under the leadership of Ivan Kokalov (General Secretary of the health union) have announced that they are over the 7,000 mark for signatures for the initiative www.petitionpublicservice.eu.

This is an excellent result, which shows not only the high levels of mobilisation that the trade unions can achieve in Bulgaria, but also shows the level of engagement with the issue. Public services and the need to have a strong EU dimension which promotes their value, is very evident. EPSU General Secretary Carola Fischbach-Pyttel stated that; "the new member states are illustrating how strong is the desire to ensure that ALL EU citizens benefit from high quality public services".
