(11 December, Paris) EPSU participates in high level debate on SGI Penny Clarke, EPSU co-campaign coordinator of the EPSU ’Quality Public Services - Quality of Life’ campaign, will participate in a high level seminar organised by the European Party of Socialists and representatives from French civil society on 15 December. The seminar, in Paris, will examine the role of local government, transport and social services, in the context of EU definition for public services.

Ms Clarke stated that she is looking forward to emphasising that; "the debate, regardless of the sector, points towards the need for a framework legal instrument for public services". She added that she very much hoped that, with such key actors in the room, time would be dedicated to strategic campaign discussions. In particular, it is important that events such as this one, are replicated throughout the EU. In this way we can raise the profile and engage citizens directly in this debate our public services.
