‘National Action Plans for Reform’ ETUC orientation guidelines


The ETUC recommends the attached background document for your national discussions on ‘National Action Plans for Reform’.

The new Lisbon approach encourages governments to involve social partners when drawing up the new national plans for reform. This provides European trade union movement with the opportunity to influence the political agenda and introduce proposals, which are ‘growth and worker-friendly’ and promote sustainable development.

The ETUC Executive Committee of 14 - 15 June 2005 endorsed the idea of the ETUC providing some guiding principles to be used by affiliates in the national discussion processes. [1]
